My wife and I have been studying the CDL materials for a month or so. We took our written exams before starting driving school. Both for our learner permit and for our further exams. After the driving school and passing the driving test, we turned right around and took the hazmat and tanker exam. Passed all! Thanks Bret for a great training program. We have a pre hire offer already to team drive.

Question regarding Panther Expedited
Harold,
You should go to Expeditersonline.com and post your question to the forum at that location. I have been researching the Expediting Industry and most of the usual contract driver jobs pay 60/40% percent of the line haul. The sixty going to the one buying the fuel. Also if your wanting to team drive it should be someone you are very close too such as wife or brother/sister. Most contract drivers, get 40% and the owner pays fuel and upkeep on truck. The one buying the fuel also gets the Fuel Service Charge or FSC. I have read a lot of questions on the forum but have never heard of a pay situation like you described by anyone. Also check out Expediter Services

Practice test, Is this a common problem?
I just had that happen also. Clicked on "finish" on an exam and it gave an error message that connectivity had been lost. Clicked on the forum. After retrying four or five times to finish noticed it had logged me out. Logged back in and went back to the exam, and it started over and asked two questions then ended. Oh well, my air card may be losing signal at some point.

Special requirements for Texas commercial motor vehicles portion of the cdl test
Svetlana,
My wife and I justtook our test for our permit and both of us had to retake because of that darn section 14. There were several questions on the years farm tractors had to have headlights. Also questions on speed limits for trucks and school buses on Interstates, and stopping for Railroad grade crossing if hauling passengers or hazemat loads. Really a mishmash of several chapters. One other note; in Texas of course we have to be different. The Max width and heights of vehicles are in inches and the study guide here shows in feet and inches along with the federal rules. Hang in there and keep working the online test and you will be fine.

Flat-bedding with my daughter
Old School,
Love that place, been there several times. Breaux Bridge is a cool area and wife and I love to visit South La. and love that Cajun cooking. If you are back through there, check out Poche's meat marktet and restaraunt for some great cooking. just a mile or so out of town and signs everywhere. They have a lunch on Sundays where you line up in the hallway at the kitchen to get your food, very cool! They also have frozen food you can buy and take with you, and they have huge parking lot that truckers can get in and out of.
