Would you work for this company?
Old school I appreciate your advice. I also took advice from people that I know personally and they may have led me in the wrong direction. I am moving on I am no longer doing anything from the company. I am going to court because they need to right their wrongs with me personally. I am moving on :) Thanks for your advice earlier Old School

You are driving heavy hauls... so you are an experienced driver. WHY would you risk your CDL for this company?
any one DOT violation was b3 enough for me to quit if not repaired.
Not very experienced but I did have a permit for 100k gross and mostly just heavy containers that shippers would over load. Worst offenders are recycling plants. I remember these guys loading a container for India they took about 40 minutes trying to shut the container with a forklift. After they finally closed the container they forgot to put in a piece of paper so they opened one door to put it in.

Hey guys thank you for the advice. I do like to keep my profile sort of private and hope you guys respect that. However I am not playing any games. I am also taking my company to small claims court now So obviously I am done with their BS. Lets not get to political about my avatar I believe in fairness and justice I believe Soros is decent. But I know this is a trucking forum and I appreciate your input . Thank you all for the advice!!!

I get it. But what would you do if you discovered these things ? Would you quit the day you found this out?

Would you work for this company?
So I am working for a company that has 6 trucks . They used to have 11 but in 11 inspections they had 6 OOS. The truck they gave me the RPM doesn't work and the Speedometer is stuck at 70mph and starts there and when I give it gas it runs into the fuel needle. Also the secondary air tank gauge doesn't work also. The company has a conditional rating which means I rarely ever get to bypass a weigh station plus we haul heavy we have permits for up to 100,000 gross. We don't go out of state much so we still use paper logbooks. Also I was going to take a load to Oregon today and saw that the trailer didn't have registration and my dispatcher didn't get me a permit to enter Oregon. My question is what would you do if you worked for a company like this?

I was in a tight yard and sort of Jack knifed while backing. So after I get done I see the glad hand and the glad hand on the trailer is sheared off. Literally if you take a glad hand and cut it in half. Do you guys know what caused this? Is my fifth wheel to far back? Did I jackknife to hard? What is going on the hose is intact so how could the force shear a steel glad hand?

Boy, they suckered you in for an awful experience come tax time! You're going to be sorry and broke!
Here's a fact for you: since you are operating their equipment, they cannot consider you an independent contractor, thus what your new, awesome place to work is already breaking the law.
Run the other way now.
Actually I signed a w4 So I will be an employee.

Going to a mega would have been my last resortCan you give a reasonable argument for that. It makes no sense being that you have zero experience. Don't give us all the nonsense you've heard from drivers you know. Make a decent argument for your comment. I can't fathom how a total newbie thinks he has some sort of insight into this greatly misunderstood industry. Please... help us out here.
Hi , thanks for the input. I don't really have an argument. I would go to a mega last because I personally don't know of many people who went the mega route. Most guys I personally know around here in Seattle started with a smaller company. One of the few guys that did go to a mega was my Trainer in CDL school and he said he was happier at the company that the owner of the school also owns. The owner of the school I have met also and he offered me a chance to become a car hauler. I think my way of thinking is because Seattle has thousands of trucking companies.

Thanks I appreciate it . I would say most of the advice I got on here was really good. Strange how people I personally know gave some strange/bad advice. I will move on and do my best. Big lesson for me these last few weeks.
