Chelly N.'s Bio

I'm just a wife of a driver (he's been driving for 18+ years) I recently became a rider full time OTR and it's a totally different world from being at home everyday mending to the kids.... I'm here for the other end of the spectrum..... The questions and the know how's and so forth.... He's teaching me well but I could never be a team driver along with him.... My place is just fine in the passenger seat and him being my chauffeur... We decided that since we have been wanting to move down to New Orleans so bad but the deal with trying to save money wasn't working with rent power bill and so forth.... That's how I came about becoming a rider.... I have deep struggles going straight from homemaker and mommy to rider over night and missing our kids and our cat VJ is the worst and not being able to do my normal like writing and going to school online..... I feel like I'm wasting my time if I'm not busy doing something with my hands or educating myself on something..... This I fell upon trucking truth thank u Jear Desus..... Now I can educate myself without "nagging" him 24/7 🤣🤣🤣 But seriously I'm in search for a lot of questions as a rider in the trucking company.... Thanx in advance by the way Desperately seeking answers, Chelly Neal From Meridian MS/New Orleans LA area He drives OTR with USX

FEMA load pay

Kearsey.... I simply noticed this information and thought it was not correct and questioned my groom about these adjustments.... He didn't know and said he would talk to payroll in the am.... Him not I... I just brought it to his attention and decided to ask others in the mean time.... Another thing is I take care of our bills and his pay is important for me to know it's only natural to ask questions if you don't understand adjustments and deductions on your check stub and since he doesn't handle the bills it falls into my court.... Ask him and go forth.... Another thing is.... He had spoken to other drivers with the company and every single one of them told him to get off of per diem for he only gets paid X amount per mile and if he dropped per diem his mileage pay would go (per diem pay + taxable pay = total mileage pay) to (mileage pay) I mean I was simply just asking questions..... And by the way he figured out after writing and figuring that the deduction amount was "loaded mile" pay.... He didn't take an advance pay out of his check.... If he did it would clearly state on his check stub "advance pay" plus amount.... He has taken out an advance pay before and that wasn't an advance.... He tells me everything and wouldn't go "behind my back" about anything.... Thanks for making him sound like a complete jerk but he's not.... We discuss everything and don't keep things from each other.... It's crazy you "assume" crap like that like all men are always hiding crap from their wives.... "Assume" means when u make an @zz out of me and you for "assuming" unintelligent issues of the which you did.... Wow I come here expecting to be educated and get treated like a controlling overbearing wife when the fact of the matter is he drives a truck OTR and can't handle "home matters" at the same time.... His number one focus OTR is to focus On The Road and not worry about paying the bills or if the bills get paid... That's my job as his wife and our marriage is a 50/50 effort on both ends.... I take care of home matters while he brings home the bread and that works for us.... I'm sorry you feel the way you feel about me as a wife but all I wanted to know was simple facts not to be talked down to like I'm stupid or something.... If you don't know something it's always best to ask instead of "ass-u-me" things..... Thank you for you delightful reply Cheers

FEMA load pay

I have a couple of questions if somebody might be able to help me understand Question 1: My groom is a driver and I have felt like something hasn't seemed right with his pay from day one.... Anyway I noticed this past Friday 10-4-19 his check stub seemed shady as heck.... They seem to have a problem with a recent FEMA load (got paid $325.00 for this load - load payment was on 9-27-19 - load was actually dispatched on 9-16-19) he had and took like $265.00 from his check this week for this load assignment.... Boiling down to only paying him for "empty miles" and payment total of $60.00..... what the heck happened??? Why would a company pay u for the load then take that money u earned away just like that??? I'm thinking that the FEMA load itself had something wrong with it but I don't know until he talks to payroll tomorrow... Came here to see if I maybe could get some answers before then....

Question 2: Per Diem pay or straight mileage pay??? I feel like he would make more money (gross pay) going to straight mileage pay and dropping per diem all together.... Thoughts plz (OTR out 12 home 2)

Thanx in advance, Chelly

Hiya and wow that was a fast reply and shocked really at how fast that was accepted and responded to.... Thanx so much for your input Mr. Errol..... I guess I will have to pause my caching desires til we get the move dealt with and get ourselves established down there before I pick up my love for the GEO 😩😩😩. It again too it's not like I haven't stepped away from it before cold turkey..... This new lifestyle of going from full time house wife and mommy to a rider over night has got my emotions all mixed up like a stiff New Orleans Hurricane cocktail..... Thanx again for the response..... Greatly appreciated sir

Do any of you go geocaching?

I was just wondering if there is actually realistic time frames to spend on seeking caches..... I introduced my groom to caching after 15 years of lost connections.... We were best friends in high school and lost touch with one another then I searched for him and it was like time never past us.... Anywho long story short.... He had been driving since he graduated high school (18+ years I suppose) never heard of caching.... My Momma taught me about it as a teen back in the mid 1990's when a local radio station did a hide and gave clues every day til somebody found their hide.... Back when u had to use actual paper maps..... Well when we reconnected I told him I was out on "a run" caching and I would "catch" him for lunch afterwards.... Inquisitive he began poking for knowledge and that's all she wrote.... It was cache at first sight and he was loving this "game" but I call it a "love for the hunt"..... Now that we are married and I'm OTR with him for a month and a clue of days now I miss my fix of the caches... I quickly found out the hard way that "time is of the essence!!!" And "no parking is available" quotes that broke my Southern Belle heart to pieces.... I was just wondering if there is actually a way to "catch them all" or find some really fantabulous hides that would be worth the hunt along his route..... The only problem is he never knows what the next load assignment will be so the next destination is never set in stone.... It's useless trying to plan a hunt for this unforseen circumstances.... I just wanna seek and I've also found there's a LOT of really cool and awesome ones outside our local area I'm really dying to get my hands on.... But I'm back at square one..... Not sure if we will be in the area.... Not sure if we are in the area if we would have enough time or PARKING... 🙄🙄🙄 But we have found some when he was waiting on a couple of live unloads and live loads and his 34..... So that's really the only time.... To be honest during those breaks though all a driver and passenger really want to do is lay back and relax..... Riding just wears me out let alone him driving I couldn't imagine how he feels..... It's frustrating but ok at the same time.... But more so frustrating cause it's like I'm experiencing the whole wide world of the states and I can't have a little fun while doing so.... 😩😩😩 Any suggestions plz plz and thanx in advance.... I'm dying to get some tips and tricks for caching OTR..... And ummm confessional here..... I have to admit..... I have had a trackable for about a year or so myself and shameful of this so much I dare not speak to just anybody about my "lack of there of".... Meridian just doesn't have ANYTHING period the end and driving/riding to different parts of the states.... I gotta figure something out..... Help 😩😩😩 Desperate to seek caches, Chelly Neal Meridian MS/New Orleans LA area Groom drives for USX OTR
