Any good, reasonable CDL schools in South Florida?
That's another reason why I don't want to get my CDL thru a company. Yes, I understand that's a great option for someone who wants to get a CDL (and a job, carrier) and doesn't have the money for school, etc.. but we are not on the same boat here. Between my towing company, dealership and a few other things that I do, I'm doing pretty well. As I'd like to say I'm 5'11" but when I sit on my wallet - I'm 11'5"! So I definitely don't want to be working for someone else making 31 cents per mile !! You feel me? And be tied up with an year or two contract. Hell to the mutha trucker no! I don't know why you keep pushing that option?! It's definitely NOT the only way to get a CDL... Kickbacks, bonuses, free advertising?..I would never know I guess...

Gee, I asked a simple question and all the hyenas came out! Lol I didn't really want to tell you my life story but I actually own few businesses for 10+ years now, including a towing company and a car dealership. Already have a great tow/hauling truck that would be perfect for a hotshot. That's what I'm aiming for... It's not all semis out there...relax. Even if I did want to get into semis, I don't see what's the problem?! We all have to start somewhere, don't we? Y'all act like you were born behind the wheel and know everything

I was looking at Sheridan but they don't have anything available till January 2020. I would like smth reasonable (around $2,000 ), quick (I would like to get my license by the end of the year. Hopefully that's achievable). And most importantly I would like to gain actual knowledge, not just get the license. I don't want to sign up with a company and trying to avoid schools that care only about taking your money. If you know any of those, please share so I can avoid them Thanks and have a great day!

Getting Insurance & Operating an Authority in one state, residence & CDL from another
I'm a FL resident but found out I can save quite a bit of money on insurance in another state. Can I register my authority in that state and be an owner/operator with a FL CDL? Any potential issues with the insurance company? Would they be able to insure me at the lower rate in that state with a FL CDL? Thanks

LOL... Yeah, I know. That's why I want to get into hotshot and not big rigs...for now. I wanna see how it goes first but I do know plenty of people who do make good money as O/Os, small companies,etc...and in my case, having a dealership and being able to get those $$$ trucks for a lot less doesn't hurt, right? For all I know I can add semis to my inventory lol...
