Have 5 preventable but need job

I have 5 preventables on my record from the past 13 months. No tickets, no at fault accidents or citations. Rookie. Simple bad luck and inexperience. I'm trying to get a job but none of the big fleets will touch me with a 10 foot pole bc preventables. I have good professional references, was number one on my fleet, known for very high miles and on time deliveries. No tickets as a non-pro for about 8 years. No criminal history. I was not fired, I resigned last week. Any advice on who might give me a job???

Harassment & blocking diesel pumps

No gender politics, just wanted to be clear.

Yes it happens to men. Anything that happens to women out here also happens to men.... so drop the gender politics for your own sanity. Being a woman may have kept him from punching you, did you think about that? i saw 3 guys get into a fist fight over a squeegee at the pump.

I would.never have approached them to begin with. Calling Loves again would have been a better idea. going into loves would have been better. Seriously.... approaching drivers does no good. It may make you feel better, but they could easily lie. "The pump is broken and the are trying to figure out how to refund me".... "My transmission just died and i'm waiting for a tow truck" How would you know?

I had to fuel at a place with 3 pumps and the keypads didnt work. I waited in line for over 20 min at the cashier waiting for them to activate the pump. When i walked out, 2 lanes were occupied by guys doing a PTI. As i walked to the pump, a local driver screamed at me about hogging the fuel aisle. I was the only one he saw so i got yelled at. I smiled and blew him a kiss.... then I wrote a note and taped it to the pump. "Keypad broken, go inside".

While i was pumping he came up yelling.. and I pointed to the paper. i never said a word

Another time the pump digital display said it was giving me fuel but no fuel came out... so i told my trainee to go insode and get someone... cause i knew some idiot hothead would approach me and i wasnt moving. a guy yelled with his hands up and i told him "The pump just took $400 of my money and gave us no fuel... do YOU want the same to happen to you or do you want me making sure it is fixed before you fuel?"

Pumps have even frozen, so drivers need to plan better, and understand things happen. Assuming the driver in front of you is a total.jerk everytime makes you angry, is pointless, and does not take into all possible issues. It can also be dangerous to approach people.

I had legitimate situtaions at the pumps... and those angry drivers who yelled at me were assuming that their lack of time management was my concern. Nope... My getting the pump working right was.

Just as you think he is rude for wasting your time... he thinks you were rude for approaching him. Some people out here are hotheads even without alcohol... and i seem to remember someome got shot a pump a couple years ago. so WHY risk that when you could just pull to another lane?

After a second call to management, the guy would have known you were the complainer and then he could have slashed your tires or something while you were fueling. that would have cost you even more of a delay.

Harassment & blocking diesel pumps

A couple days ago in MT, I pulled into the Loves to fuel up. All other pumps had at least one tractor waiting. I pulled behind a slightly oversized F150 or the like, pulling a trailer. There was no one in truck, the pumps were not being used. I waited 10 minutes before calling Loves to ask them to tell they guy to move. Another 5 minutes passed. Guy and girl stroll out and he then begins to fuel. He gets into passenger side. Another 10 minutes pass. At this point I'm ****ed bc this is taking way too long. I walked over to the pump, it was done fueling, as you might have guessed, I rap once on truck with my knuckle, girl opens door, I say, "the pump stopped," as I turn to walk back to my truck. Guy jumps out, gets in my face, screaming, "don't you touch my f*ing truck over and over. He reeked of beer. I told him to just move so I can fuel. Instead he had a meltdown, screaming in my face about how much more money he makes, body-shoving me several times, ordering me to get in my truck. The woman is also yelling at me, telling to to chill, (??) while the guy berates me and tractor-driving truckers and raves on about making so much more money. Other guys at pump watched but did nothing. Full disclosure, I'm an older female who weighs about 160, this guy was a few inches taller than me, in his 30s, and weighed about 250. I found the entire thing appalling. Pump etiquette is pretty well established and I am very patient when people are slow. Through all this no one was parked in front of him, yet he refused to moved. Eventually I pulled into another pump. Does this happen to men? I have the right to get ****ed and react, yet have this idiot freaks out when all he had to do was pull up.

Qualcomm DOT -12:40

Thanks for helpful feedback. In defense of my trainer, he was a good guy and I learned a lot from him. The Qualcomm gave me real problems with route at the beginning of the trip. I was routed onto a highway that was closed and had no detours. I was re-routed into an area that deadended in no trucks allowed intersection...this ate up over an hour of my drive time. I was questioning the Qualcomm integrity when I began to get pre-violation warnings.

Qualcomm DOT -12:40

Hey guys,

Newby here, company driver. Between log updates on a new to me (used) truck and various routing issues, I believed Qualcomm wasn't accurate and did not take a full 10 hr reset. I'm now on mandated break. Qualcomm says 8 hr rest break available, 11 hr driving: 3 hrs available, 14 hr on duty says: -12:40. What exactly does that mean? Clearly I unintentionally violated regulations but I literally drove less than 300 miles in 12 hrs and took a 30 minute break and a 7 he break. How did this mess happen? Thanks for any info. Rod
