Bus driver since 2006. I've also done some cash work driving straight trucks and dump trucks. Currently attending Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville's 7 week truck driver training program. I hope to go somewhere and company drive OTR dry van for at least a year or two, then move over to something with more regular hometime once I have gained a little experience, and can prove that I can be a safe, reliable, hardworking driver. Am currently being recruited by Averitt, and Schnieder, but I have interest in Landair and Western Express as well. I've maintained B CDL for 13 years with passenger and Tank. I've had Hazmat before, but let it lapse. I fully intend to add HZMT after course is finished. I am interested in tanker, but want to wait until I have at least a year (preferably more), OTR experience, before I would feel I could handle that safely. Looking forward to this journey. I love the resources you have on this site, and the mature outlook without all of the negativity I've seen in other places while trying to do my due diligence on this middle aged career change that I seem to have put into motion. Keep up the good work, and hope to see you on the road someday soon!

What did you do before becoming a truck driver?
Drove busses (mainly transit) for last 13 years. Pretty much done with hauling people around, thought I'd haul inanimate objects around for a while instead. :)
