Living overseas for 15 years, want to drive, DOT employment requirements.
As an expat, didn't you have to pay taxes on your earnings? If you did then your tax returns will help get you sorted out. If not? Then you'll have to do as midnight fox recommended. Good luck.
I never had to pay American income tax because I didn’t make enough for me to file. I don’t know the amount, but it’s like $75,000 a year. If you make more than that, you must file for American taxes.
The USA is the only country that taxes on income from another country.

Yes, I have an American Driver License since 2017.
I use my parent’s address as my legal address in the United States.

Hello.
I might be a unique situation. I have been living and working in East Asia the past fifteen years and want to return back to the USA. I am interested in being a driver. The job I think would suit me fine.
But the issue of the employment background. How do I verify this? I can show that I have been out of the country all of these years through my passport. I can also provide phone numbers of previous employers to state that I have worked there. I even have letters in English.
Been working, but out of the country. Do you have to be employed the past three to five years to break into this industry? Or just show where you have been and what you have been doing?
I think this will be a major stumbling block, but this seems to be the only thing I can do that will provide me with a living wage. I also feel I would be good at it.
Thank you.

What does a quarantine due to coronavirus mean for truckers?
I dont know but my thinking would be that drivers are some of the busiest people out there, especially if you are running freight for supermarkets or retail chains. People are mass buying and the stores cannot keep product stocked fast enough. Seems truckers would be the busiest people out there.
I think one issue I can think of is how are you guys fed on the road since the restaurants are closed? I guess if you have refrigeration in the vehicle many of you are living on ham and peanut butter sandwiches. What about coffee, I guess you guys can drink instant coffee.
One thing I guess is nice is that there isnt much traffic now so the runs are a lot faster with less hazards and maybe less interference with cops since the cops now have other concerns and dont want to pull people over unless it is something serious. But again, I really do not know.
I live abroad and want to get into trucking but this virus (would like to use four letter words but am a newbie here) seems to have shuttered this for awhile. But it seems to be anyone with an A license who wants to get out there, can. I wish I knew about this virus a year ago, I would have gotten my license.
