Oh yes. That email was sent quickly. I did tell him that I asked some people that are obviously smarter than me and they set me straight and I apologized. He was very gracious in his response. So I sent him an exotic dancer and an edible bouquet. Just kidding.....those bouquets are expensive. I can tell I’m going to get along with this kid. I’m old enough to be his dad. LOL

Thanks for setting me straight on that. Just one of many stupid things I will undoubtably do.

It’s about 30 mins watching some video clips of drivers making bad decisions and going over the Smith System. You then get a “Diploma” that gets scanned and you’re done.

I’m going out with my trainer in a few days. I sent an email asked several questions and I’m ok with all the answers except one and that was to the question, “How are we going to handle the reward card situation at the truck stops?” His response was, “We will use mine except for the last couple days and then you will use yours to get some shower credits.” My classmates have already been driving awhile and their trainers told them different things. So I replied to that with “I assume you will be taking care of my showers then. I completely understand that you need to get points too since I will be doing the vast majority of the driving. My counter suggestion is to change that number from the last 1-2 days to 6-7. It’s not just shower credits it’s points.” Am I out of line?

I just finished CDL School with Knight in Ohio. Of course it was actually at Swift Academy. But they’re the same thing. Well, kinda. The way it worked for me in Ohio was this. They offered a Greyhound ride to school. I wasn’t going to be on a bus for 17 hours so I drove myself. I did get reimbursed for my gas though. While in Ohio they did provide rides to and from the hotel and school. I believe the cost for the hotel was $750 for the month and that will be paid back to them in $22 deductions from your check weekly. I’m pretty sure it’s the same at all their CDL Schools.
