I'm currently attending orientation at Prime and just reviewed and signed my contract. If you decide within the first 7 days after completing orientation (so being out with the trainer for seven days or less) that you do not want to continue with prime, you can walk away without owing a pennie. On the 8th day and until the 1 year mark, you owe the full $4375 for training and an additional $278 for the hotel and meals. After completing the 1 year contract, you owe nothing.
I would assume the same time frames apply for if you are fired, but I have no confirmation of that. I just wanted to give you the info I just reviewed today 😁

Balancing on one leg during physical assessment
Where are you from in VA?
Nothing on your profile page....
Richmond. I'll get my profile setup !
Hmmm....That's where the separate State of Northern Virginia starts, as far as I'm concerned. Hundreds of years ago I used to work around there framing and hanging drywall on two commercial high rise buildings: Circuit City and the Blue Cross-Blue Shield Complex.
I'm pretty new Richmond and the east coast, just moved here last February from SLC, UT.

Balancing on one leg during physical assessment
Hey all. I am wanting to get into the truck driving industry. I have done a lot of research and had applied to multiple places. I had decided on TMC trucking for their CDL training, and have been accepted by them.
I was watching some videos on YouTube today about their physical assessment during orientation, and one of the guys mentioned that they have you balance on each leg for 30 seconds. I can do this no problem on any left leg, but due to me not being able to control the toes in my right foot (since birth), i cannot balance for very long on my right.
I was wondering if this a requirement for most trucking companies? I have reached out to my recruiter at TMC but have not heard back from him.
Will you be going through their school at Columbia or Iowa? I did a two week orientation at Columbia and we didn’t even balance on our legs. We had to pick up both tarps climb a 15 foot ladder get off climb back down jump up onto the flatbed even though it’s against company policy. Lol. It was very casual and laid back
Iowa. From what I've read, all new driver CDL trainees go to Iowa ... I'm not positive wether that is for sure though. I live in Virginia.
Are you still with them? How are you like driving for them?
I’m still training. They are a great company. They definitely do cdl training at Columbia I talked to the students. I’d push for that personally
I would definitely like to train there if they do. I'll ask my recruiter about that when I talk to him about the balancing thing.

Balancing on one leg during physical assessment
Thank you for the response!
I called and left him a message earlier today, he has not gotten back to me yet.
I got my DOT physical today, and did not need to do it. TMC does flat bed trailers, which I think is why they might do that. I found a comment from a few years back on here while searching from someone who was hired for Roelh's flat bed division and they had to do it (or maybe it was just a balance beam), but those who did dry and reefer did not need to.

Staring Prime in Springfield March 23
Awesome!
I went through orientation at the Pittson, PA prime terminal about a month ago. I am currently in my second week of TnT training and loving it so far.
