Old School,
It's going great, for the most part. Ill post an update in the thread Turtle started. Only problem I am having is with Walmart's annual 'realignment'. The new schedule might not work for me, so i'm exploring my options. JS.

Turtle and G-Town,
Are you hauling GM or GR?
So far I am pretty happy driving for Walmart. I have been hauling mostly GR and find it hard to get 2000 mile a week. The activity pay makes up the difference I guess. My pay started off slow and seems to grow every pay period. I'm not 100% happy with it....yet. I do like the equipment and people, I'm sure the money will come in time. JS.

Well, I made it! It was a stressful week but I am now a Walmart Driver.
Our group was small 16, mostly men. There were 2 women, one of which came with her father which was really cool. One fellow quit on day 3. I believe 10 passed on Thursday, 5 had to go to the 'Safety Round' on Friday. Of that 5, 3 made it. So they managed to get 13 new hires. At 63 I was the oldest.
To be honest, I am humbled to get hired. From what I have seen and heard so far, this looks to be great company to drive for. JS.

Thank you to you and Marc.
I have been practicing and studying the pre trip since I received my offer on March 25, I feel pretty good about that. I have been driving log truck for the last 12 years, way different then a 53' dry van, so the backing and drive test should be interesting.
The Walmart plan is that trucks and empty trailers will ultimately be based out of a 'yard' not a DC. To date, the 'yard' hasn't been built. They were going to start about 3 weeks ago but the project was halted. There are 2 DC's that are 150 plus miles from that yard that the trucks would haul to and from, Grandview Washington and Hermiston Oregon. Originally the onboarding was going to be in Arizona, but switched to Hermiston Oregon. I am headed to Hermiston this morning to start onboarding.
I will try to post daily updates, good or bad. JS.
Great read! I am headed to onboarding with Walmart on Monday 4-27-2020. Nervous and excited! JS.
Awesome! Congratulations Jerry. It's a piece of cake, you'll be fine. Just study up on your pretrip beforehand.
Where are you doing the onboarding? They switched over to sending students to Casa Grande shortly after I joined. Now with the virus I know they're doing a lot of onboarding at your home DC to limit travel.

Logbook legalities
I curious about the legal side of logbooks and have a few questions. I recently heard a bizarre story from a fellow driver regarding what I feel is unfair use of information found in his logbooks.
1. Who ‘owns’ a drivers logs? 2. How much control over your logbooks can your employer have? 3. Can your employer release your logs to law enforcement without your knowledge? 4.Can information in your logs be used outside of DOT norms? Example being HOS. 5. If a law enforcement officer, other then DOT, wants to view your logs without your knowledge, do they need a search warrant? 6. If the logs belong to the driver, can his employer legally release them? 7. Can your logs be used to link you to a crime scene/area?
