Let's hear it - what do you guys think about the Canadian Truckers?
I support the cause 100%. But I don’t believe any protest whether conservative, moderate or liberal should be allowed to block roads or interrupt commerce or businesses for more than a few hours.

If you’re going to continue with your non-stop promotion of Melton Truck lines, please also mention they do not offer paid training so people aren’t mislead. The OP specifically mention pursuing paid training. I believe Melton only hires trucking school graduates or experienced people. They don’t have a paid training program to obtain a CDL.
Wow thats quite the journey, thanks for serving! Melton Truck Lines is a great choice! I plan on becoming an officer in the Airforce and already taking steps towards that😊

I’m still a little confused by 2 articles Brett wrote regarding private schools vs paid training. One is titled “Why I Prefer Paid CDL Training Over Private CDL Training”, where his opinion is self explanatory. One is titled “Private Schooling Vs Company Sponsored: The Basic Differences”. In this article he states private training is preferred if you can afford it. I understand most of the moderators and contributors recommend paid training. I couldn’t find the dates the articles were written, so I’m not sure which one is most current. I value his opinion and decades of experience and I’m hoping Brett can clarify what he thinks is best in 2021-22.

There seems to be confusion on this forum. Both Fox News and CNN are mainstream media and they are both biased. In fact Fox News ratings are much higher than CNN. Therefore I can’t see how Fox News would be considered anything but mainstream media and with the dominant bias being put out.
I don't think anyone ever claimed that Fox News was not mainstream.
Chief Brodie did and I was responding to when he specifically called CNN main stream and referred to Fox News as contra media. I just wanted to point out that Fox News has a higher viewership than CNN, therefore mainstream. I have no agenda. I come to this site to learn about trucking.

I’m just hoping folks on this forum understand that AON and Fox News are just as biased as CNN and MSNBC. If you’re truly a free thinker the bias of all of these sources is beyond obvious.

Trucking School vs Paid CLD Training: Survivor stats?
I have been a little confused on 2 articles on TT Brett wrote regarding the choice between private and paid training. The 1st article I read titled Why I Prefer Paid CDL Training Over Private CDL Training was self explanatory and gave great reasons to choose paid training. The second article titled Private Schooling Versus Company Sponsored: The Basic Differences. In this article Brett writes the following “ At a private school the experience will generally be better because you're a paying customer. The pace is a little slower and they'll be more patient with you. They'll work with you more individually. With a company-sponsored program you're more like a player trying to make the team. It's like a tryout, and not everyone makes the team. The environment is usually fast-paced and there is a little less tolerance for those who aren't picking up on the skills as quickly. It's a totally different approach.” Brett also states “ For me, the major difference comes down to whether or not you have the money available for private schooling. If you can afford to go through private schooling it's the preferred path overall. The experience is a little better and you'll have the option of working for any company that hires students from your school after graduating.” So you can see my confusion if you can afford private school. I’m hoping Brett will let us know if he has changed his mind or if private is preferred if you can afford it. Thanks to all for the great information and debates.

Trucking under Democratic or Republican Government
Excellent responses to my misguided request to take the thread down. I do apologize. I have much to learn from this forum. I will listen.

Trucking under Democratic or Republican Government
I come to this forum to learn about the trucking industry, because I know your experts in the field. I’m not at all interested in your political views, because I know your not experts. We are surrounded my political controversy everywhere else, would it be possible to have a forum where we avoid politics and disrespecting others views or the States we choose to live in. Brett please stop this thread so newbies can learn about the trucking industry not political issues. I can go to Truckers Report for that.

I absolutely agree Truckers are patriots. But it isn’t accurate to say all Democrats are bad. Many Democrats are hardworking people that get their nails dirty. Also many veterans, law enforcement and even truckers are patriots and democrats. Don’t be fooled about who main stream media truly is. I have said it before but Carlson, Hannity and Fox News dominate the ratings. It’s about money. The bigger the controversy the more they make us fight amongst ourselves and the more money they all make no matter what side they take. Whether you’re conservative, moderate or liberal don’t buy into the hate. Protest peacefully and keep the goods moving don’t be like BLM or antifa and block roads and trample on other’s Constitutional rights.
