So....can we get some updates Ladies in trucking????

Hi Ladies,

I am just starting the process, I have been looking into schools and found 2 that with company sponsorships. One is out of state and one is not. I have a difficult situation as I am a single mom to a 3 year old now I have been getting some negative feedback when I say that, but I am a single mom who has to put food on the table n need to purchase a table(lol). I am going to have a rough road ahead but the faster I do this the faster I can go local.

I sent you a pm and suggest you look into roehl. They have a variety of home time choices as well as a sponsored training program. I have contacted them and am currently saving to attend their training program. It is in WI, but they recently started paying for housing during training. Transportation, food and licensing fees aren't included.

High Road Training Program

Hey quietman, question bout knight.

Do they only select students for their cdl training program from select areas? I would love to get into their cdl training couse, however I'm in KY.

Would love to hear about your experience when you start knights training as well. Good luck!

Swift Truck Driving Academy (Corsicana TX)

Hi guys,

I just received and started the online training course required to get in the swift training academy in Millington TN.

I have concerns about the training there and the many students that get sent home before completing their training. The choice to go to swift wasn't my first choice. I prefer attending community college closer to home and go to werner. With my current financial strains I've decided to try swift.

I've read several experiences on the forums concerning swifts program. I don't understand the reasons so many don't survive their training there. I am planning to drive the 5 hr trip and don't want to fall on my face or have some uncontrollable reason to have to turn around and go back home.

Any advice that could better prepare me to succeed in this academy would be appreciated. As much as I've been preparing to get all my ducks in a row, there may be some things I may miss.
