Why not get the pre-cooked bacon you can toss in the microwave? I eat it all the time and it's quick, 30sec's and wont smell up the truck. Plus it would be a lot safer. They also make pre-cooked sausage you can pick up for 1.00 for a package of 8.

Safety? Did you pretrip that microwave before you used it?

Three reasons why I can't do that:

1. Ewwww.

2. I wouldn't be able to cook my eggs and toast my bagel in the yummy bacon grease.

3. Eeeewwwwwwwwww.

LOL it's really not that bad and to be honest its really good. Keep cooking bacon in your truck and you'll make some friends and maybe attract some lot lizards. HAHA

I think my five food groups are bacon, beef, cheese, coffee, and cream. Not necessarily in that order.

Bacon is the name of God on the lips and hearts of all children.

That said, when it comes to cooking in the truck in general, you better be REALLY fond of the aroma of whatever you're cooking, because it's going to be with you for a very long time.

Now gimme dat bacon!

Most apus have outlets,in the side box,run extension cord outside.I just prefer the smell of bacon to cigarrettes anyhow.Love cooking bacon in the truck.

APU:

Auxiliary Power Unit

On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.

Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.

Embrace the cloven hoof. Roll up the windows while cooking it. Bask in it. Use the drippings like WD40. Welcome the compliments of shippers and receivers as you perfume their reception room with the aroma of cooked animal fat.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
