Mike C. Can you paste the link or article that states the company? Actually that company is close to me- I live in Missouri and I believe their home office is in Nebraska. I've thought about working for them.

Now don't believe everything on the internet but "they" say.Link stating company

What a shame? Werner HQ, is in Omaha. I can only imagine the phone call. Police: "Hello, this is the Bell County, and we need to speak to the next of kin, etc...."

Wow I guess Werner doesn't do a hair follicle test on their new hires.....😞😞

This right here is a good example why hair follicle testing on new hires would help prevent something like this happening again.

Not to say the fella was a tweeker but that kinda uncontrolled violence is an example of that type of habitual drug users reaction to stress and confrontations in close quarter confined spaces.

I said a prayer for the trainers family.

Some people are just prone to violence. Tweaking has nothing to do with it.

I occasionally drive by Werner HQ on my runs.

Maybe not tweaking, but what about twerking?

My SO is a trainer for Werner. Of the last 10 trainees on his truck only 1 was not a safety concern (either personal or otr) The majority had already been on a truck with one and sometimes two other trainers and had been kicked off for personal safety issues. One was a road safety issue. One was decent but decided life on the road wasn't for him. His last (and best) is on a visa and gets incredibly nervous on a DOT inspection, worried if there is an infraction his visa status would be affected. With what I hear about the caliber of trainees on his truck I'm thankful he's a Marine (combat vet recently retired) who worked cert at Camp David....can spot a nut job a mile away.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

A year or so ago there was a team truck and while one guy was driving his team mate hit him in the head with a hammer. Combat training or not is not going to protect you when you don't see it coming.

I don't know how you figure that at all. The guy was probably severely mentally unstable. A mental health evaluation maybe
