This guy in particular, yes, bad ju-ju. Do they do any kind of background check when you get your CDL if you're not getting Hazmat?
Nope, just the standard stuff, similar to a regular license.
Maybe they should be doing background checks to get a CDL period.
Shouldn't they have been keeping an eye on this guy anyway?
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations

Different point of view...
The people who watch us allow us to do things so that they can see who we interact with and what we do with them...
my father called it letting out rope to tie your own noose...that is why there are no fly lists and terrorist watch lists....
So these people can be categorized and kept tabs on.
One little fish can lead to several BIG fish...

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Excellent point.
You don't give them the means to a end before you catch them.. Like in Iraq you don't give them guns and sit back and watch what they do with it...this guy got hazmat and now probably going to steal jet fuel or worse to use against us... Forget that take em out.. Green light his a$$ lol
