The split sleeper berth rule is covered on page 95 of our High Road Training Program for anyone who wants to have a look:

Page 95 - Split Sleeper Berth Rule

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Sleeper Berth:

The portion of the tractor behind the seats which acts as the "living space" for the driver. It generally contains a bed (or bunk beds), cabinets, lights, temperature control knobs, and 12 volt plugs for power.

How come it doesnt restart after the 2 hr break? That would complete your 10 hour break.

Thanks for all the replies Guys, I will get this logging but it will take me a little bit longer. I feel eventually it will all click at once for me and I will understand it. I am glad I am not the only one that is a little confused by this. I start thinking it is just me. lol Thanks again guys,
