well im ready to goto school. what are the best companys to go for right out of school in the tucson area? im thinking alot of terminals will be in phoenix area. i see all this advertisement for western express paying 36cpm for grad drivers?is that true?any help would be great.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

CPM:

Cents Per Mile

Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.

I believe knight is out of phoenix. I was looking at western express as well before leaving Cr England. Alot of companies have drop yards and terminals in that area. I just did orientation for Werner in phoenix. Good luck 😊

I haven't heard too much and never spoke to a recruiter. I seen the same pay as you on Craigslist I believe. Also seen they have tvs n direct or dish on the trucks lol which would be cool but other than long loading/unloading times and 34 hr resets I wouldn't have the time to watch tv. Just call and speak to recruiting and take everything with a grain of salt 😊

Hey.. I went to that school. The Phoenix branch not the Tucson one.

I know Eagle transport is based in Tucson they have like 120 trucks I think so it's smaller family owned and all their trucks are leased on to Werner. They hire from Southwest to.

I've seen those same adds here on craigs list. I know that Old School use to run for western express and says he loved it there. I"m sure he will chime in when he sees this.

Knight is headquartered in Phoenix, Swift is also in Phoenix and Mesilla Valley Transport is in New Mexico. All relatively in the same area you're interested in.

Hey William. If you haven't already I highly suggest going through our Truck Driver's Career Guide. There's a ton of great information in there, including finding your first truck driving job.

We also have a series of articles on How To Choose A Company.

I wouldn't worry too much about where the companies are located. As long as they hire from your area you're good to go. So don't limit yourself.

Another thing that will help your search is to figure out what type of freight you'd like to haul and how often you'd like to get home. Those are normally the first two considerations. At that point you'll have narrowed your search considerably.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
