Maybe Dive Parking :P
Brett that's a great idea. Trucker Path leaves out a lot of great places.
Another parking option for the OP is a Home Depot or other similar stores that have rear lots for frequent truck deliveries, are closed at night, and are ubiquitous. You can find a store like this at virtually any shopping center in America and it'll usually have easy truck access. There will also usually be other stores and restaurants nearby. And Home Depot has free Wi-Fi!
Thanks for all the advice everyone. I do use trucker path and trucker tools and i like the idea brett came up with. As for parking at walmarts and home depots what do you do if your at one and they come out to chase you off? Thats honestly my biggest worry about parking at those places, because the safety dept here is very strict about the hos rules. I got a phone call once because i was over my 14 hr limit parking at a terminal. It listed me as driving so they called to verify where i was driving at.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Park in the usual place (usually out at the far end of the parking lot), ask for a manager, explain the situation and ask if it's OK. (Get the manager's name in case someone later tries to chase you off!) Unless you know for sure, it never hurts to ask. Especially if you have a bag or two of groceries with you>

I learned this the hard way last night! That would be an app I'd use daily. I refuse to be the guy that parks directly next to the large "no parking" signs, although I've never seen them get told to move. I stopped to scale a load and a fella shutdown on the scale! Said he didn't expect anyone to be scaling a load at 4am
Yeah ive only had to park in an off area once it was on the far side of the lot, but trucks were still able to get around me to get on the scale so it was all good.
As someone who's going to be out on his own soon, that app would be awesome. Like stated, have it driver verified, but before it becomes official you need like 10 check-ins at it or something so there is confirmation that the driver won't have issues.
Don't forget, there are Walmart Parking Apps available for most smart phones.
