You can try the sap program.. I'm not sure what it stands for but its a drug rehabilitation program.. And some companies might hire you after that... Good luck
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
Sorry I jumped the gun on that one... You can search sap here on trucking truth or Google to get a better understanding... I think IMHO that most of these companies are going to require you to take that program or not hire you.... Trucking companies frown upon drugs now a days.... But I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will correct me..

Suspension from operating a CMV. Consult www.fmcsa.dot.gov/ for specifics and answers on what to do for reinstatement.
Not my intention to sound preachy or judgmental (and at the expense of receiving negative responses from the group), but second hand pot smoke has the same effect on a drug test as if you had put the joint in your mouth and inhaled. No getting around it, it's a well researched fact. It takes weeks for the blood markers that characterize pot smoking to totally dissipate.
Best of luck with this. Very tough and unfortunate break.
The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle
The FMCSA was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
What Does The FMCSA Do?
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
A CMV is a vehicle that is used as part of a business, is involved in interstate commerce, and may fit any of these descriptions:
That is a real bummer!
If you plan on keeping your career alive... ditch the girl friend. Find a girl who understands that you have to be clean, and cares enough to make sure she doesn't ruin your chances at success.
Did you have a hair follicle test? Perhaps some of your GF's smoke settled on your head's mop. You could "seriously" wash your hair and ask for a re-test, or offer other body hair that stays under your clothing more.
15 years without a problem, (How long with your current company?) and people in the office who know you should support your request for a re-do. Also, I think your GF has a choice to make. It can't go on like this, for sure!
Contrary to beliefs contacts highs are not that easy....Even with todays stronger weed with higher THC , you'd need to be in small space with bad ventilation "Hot boxing" I don't smoke it, just have read tons of articles of testing done on the topic lately....Just a couple excerps......Longer time away from whatever exposure you had, it should diminish ANY test readings........Google is your friend....
Under the unventilated, "hot box" condition, the nonsmokers showed slight impairments on cognitive tests, reported feeling high, and had detectable levels of THC in their blood and urine for up to 22 hours post-exposure. Those in the ventilated condition had much lower levels of THC in their blood, did not feel impaired or high, and did not test positive for THC in their urine.
Room ventilation has a pronounced effect on exposure to secondhand cannabis smoke. Under extreme, unventilated conditions, secondhand cannabis smoke exposure can produce detectable levels of THC in blood and urine
Steve, you're right - it's not easy for second hand cannabis to affect a drug test.
Taking Chuck at his word (as we do here at Trucking Truth), he does not purposely "inhale" (A classic, now. Thanks Bill Clinton!) but he hangs out with someone who has weed as a significant part of their life. Therefore, barring secretly placed brownies, I assume Chuck picked up whatever THC from the environment - hot box style or not.
So, I assumed extreme conditions, or prolonged contact that might rub any THC onto his own head hair. Dealing wth the extermes will also cover any lesser type of contact.
(Speaking of extremes, right here on Trucking Truth, someone once suggested shaving everything so a hair test wold not be possible!)
Ok question: if his girlfriend had just smoked, and then they made out, could he be ingesting THC through her saliva?

I have been a professional driver for 15 years, I started dating a female who was an avid pot smoker. I didn't smoke but from spending time at her place I tested positive for marijuana on a random drug test. I lost my job because of it. What effect will that have on my license, do I need to do anything to get rehired? any information would be appreciated.
