Man, people really suck, don't they? Ruining it for everyone else. That's too bad. I'm thinking I'll go with Prime, for a number of reasons. But thanks for the heads up!

Yes they do, I hope you like it! I'm a daughter of a long time trucker and wife to a new trucker, thinking of doing teams with him so hopefully everyone including you are happy with whatever options we choose 😊

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Hi Ladies. I am also about to embark on the truck driving career. I am officially enrolled in CDL school and starting Dec. 5th. I have been a research fanatic on this huge life change! I too have a dog. My importance is to have her with me immediately after I upgrade into my own vehicle. Some companies have time holds. The company I will hopefully end up with is XPO Logistics (formerly Con-Way Truckload). They just merged a few month back and the truckload division is going to continue to be run by Con-Way Truckload peeps in the same operation concept. They are very female friendly, pet friendly and have solo driver training...no team run training. Also gender training oriented. So check them out before you decide. Though I am a little freaked out about it, I decided to time it so I can be with an experienced driver trainer during the later winter months (Feb-Mar). I don't think there is a right or wrong time to start but for me, that was my biggest concern.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
