You will be pleasantly surprised at how many women truckers are at Prime. There are lots of women of all sorts who drive trucks. Sure, not as many as men, but there hasn't been a truck stop that I have been to that I have not seen female truckers. You will do fine. Good luck.
Best of luck to ya!

I can attest to that, there are more of us here than you probably expect. I'm in my 2nd week at Prime, maybe we'll run into each other. Good luck. Annee
I must say, the CDL training on this site is awesome! I passed my four tests on the first try! :) YAY
Would be awesome to meet you Annee. I noticed a lot of the women in my class are wives of Prime drivers... which says a lot. Men do NOT want their wives working for a crappy company... so if anything, that is one of the biggest testaments I can think of :)
The shifting is driving me nuts though. I'm the only one in my class who never drove stick. Some say I have an advantage cause they can't double clutch either.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
To engage and then disengage the clutch twice for every gear change.
When double clutching you will push in the clutch, take the gearshift out of gear, release the clutch, press the clutch in again, shift the gearshift into the next gear, then release the clutch.
This is done on standard transmissions which do not have synchronizers in them, like those found in almost all Class A trucks.
