My only problem is keeping my unit centered inside the lane. Any advice on how I can improve in this area?
That's your only problem?? Consider yourself fortunate. The truck is big, and the lanes seem small. All the trucks are that way. You'll get used to it. Stay between the dotted lines. Relax.

Thank you.
Sometimes the best advice is reassurance; appreciate that.

I had this same problem when I first started, if you use your fender mirrors and make sure you can see the marking line in each one you'll be center and good to go.

Thanks for the tip! Can't wait to test it out.

Just to add to his tip... After you've checked you mirror and know your in the center of the lane look out of the windshield and across the hood and find where the edge of the road or the white line disappears from sight and as long as that stays in the same spot your still in the center and you don't have to look at a mirror that might be in awkward position or angle. Just my 2 cents and might not be worth a thing.

yes I mark an imaginary visual spot on the right side of the hood that intersects the white line when i'm properly in lane, Then use that as a reference point to guide, of course constantly scanning mirrors to assure position.

I get to test it out tomorrow. Thanks again for the advice, everyone.
Sorry for double posting but thanks to the advice here I've actually gotten better. I really appreciate it. It won't be too long before my cdl exam and naturally I'm nervous. Personally I believe I could use a little work on turning and downshifting a little more; other than that, I believe I should do alright hopefully.

Currently in my last couple of months of school and we've been going on road trips. I can up/downshift good, I can turn okay, check my mirrors frequently, etc
