A footnote, Arizona law requires I install an IID breathalyzer in my personal vehicle to complete the court order. Everything in line, IID has another 6 months attached to my car.
So my current AZ DL has a IGNITION INTERLOCK label on it.
Wondering if I'll be able to get CDL and be accepted by companies before I remove my cars IID?? or will I have to wait till I've completed that one year penalty.
Even then, do you know if 4 misdemeanor DUI's will keep me from driving professionally.
Thx

2 would be challenging. 4, not likely.
So is it simple to say that I am not eligible to get my CDL even tho my dui misdemeanors were spaced out (96,98,04,08) and the last one was over seven years ago.

At the very least, you would have to get that "Ignition Lock" mark removed from your driver's license, before you even attempt to get a CDL.
Other than that, the only possible way for you to drive a truck, IMHO, is O/O.

You may be able to get a CDL but the more important question is if any company will hire you with 4 DUIs. The last one being 7 years ago is a good thing but having 4 of them even spaced out will make it very difficult for a company to hire you due to their insurance. Any other driving violations in the past 7 years?

Hairyman, No I have had only the 4 duis... Misdemeanor mind you. But no, no violations/nothing in the last 7 years.
Armyman, you mentioned maybe only over the road.
That is my first choice, go to a company like Swift, take the school/training and drive o/o with Swift for a couple years... Then I could shop for more of want out of a carrier.
I just want to get my foot in the door.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Armyman... I am just now realizing the base idea of your reply. WOW! I am likely going to have to own my own rig in order to drive professionally.?? My past has a decidedly haunting effect!
I do appreciate your comments.
I would start by speaking with the DMV in Arizona to make sure you qualify to get a CDL in the first place. On the page for Part 383 COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE STANDARDS; REQUIREMENTS AND PENALTIES there is a table that shows disqualifying offenses but unfortunately it's nearly impossible to understand. It wasn't put together very well. So I'm not sure if you'll qualify to get a CDL or not.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle
The FMCSA was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
What Does The FMCSA Do?
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
FYI, you'll most likely never be allowed to enter Canada. A DUI , or DWI may be a misdemeanor in a U.S. jurisdiction but it's considered a felony, and a disqualifying one, in Canada. In fact, even if you're a passenger and have no intention of driving you may be denied entry.

EPU:
Electric Auxiliary Power Units
Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices
