Of the basic CDL Permit, while I want to get the highest score I can, how many questions can you miss and still pass. Thanks

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Depends on the test. May also depend on the state. I think you need at least 80% or something like that. In Missouri the general knowledge was like 50 questions while air break was 20 or so. It will vary on each test. Here it was on a touchscreen. At the start of each test it said how many you could miss. Once you answered enough right it would end the test and go to the next. I think if you failed you could come back and try again later in the day or something like that.

Passing is 80%. The amount of questions depends on the states you are taking the test in. The test that are given on the computer suddenly stop once you have enough questions to pass that part of the test.

Mark, if you went through the High Road Training Program You don't even need to think about not passing those tests. You will be so over prepared you're going to laugh at how easily you passed the tests.
