I am dealing with the same issue as many. Please share any doctor that may be helpful. I have called many in my state but none know what I am talking about or say their doctor does not perform those evaluations. What do you tell them that you need? I kept being told to talk to the DMV.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Robert,

He made a separate post about his disability and mentioned it being orthopedic.

My apologies, I missed your original post. Is your nerve damage something that happened organically, or is it due to an accident or incident which you received medical treatment for?

Yes, it was due to an accident that happen about 20 years ago. He was from San Francisco too, so I would not be able to find him.

Gotcha. I had to go to a couple different Ortho surgeons to get one who would fill out the paperwork myself. My doctor was a plastic surgeon who is a hand specialist and according to the guidelines, didn't qualify which was outrageous but oh well. Out of curiosity, have you downloaded the application packet? It has the doctor section that they fill out. I had to find one who would look at the packet and then schedule an exam along with all the medical records associated with my injury. Lucky for me, I got released from the program after 4 years.
