Just curious.... I am at the TA in London OH tonight. Been hit up for money 3 times so far by guys with sob stories. Did not see that coming in this particular area. Also had to keep shooing away lot lizards in Tifton GA of all places. That one was crawling with so many non-drivers I actually felt unsafe. Anyone else have any truck stops they will avoid in future due to this kind of thing?

I try to avoid the loves in west Memphis ar and the one in Memphis tn... Stinks really bad there... And the loves on i40 in new Mexico they are small and always busy... I almost always fuel up at loves...

There's always pan handlers at that TA. As far as the lot lizards, I have a sticker on my window that says no lot lizards. I don't know if it helps but I've never had any knock on my door. I had one come up to me at a fuel island once when I was getting out of the truck, she asked if she could get in, I cussed her out.

If you roll up to a truck stop and see that they have on-duty cops on hand, you might not want to stay there. If they have a sign on the building indicating they have a police sub-station there.....don't......stop.....for......anything! I will echo the Memphis and West Memphis warnings and add the truck stops in Gary, Indiana to the list.......very, very bad. If you don't feel comfortable staying somewhere, then maybe there is a good reason. Bottom line is trust your gut.

West Memphis is indeed always pretty scary. Chicago area can be pretty scary. The Petro on the loop in Atlanta is survivable unless you leave the truck stop - then you're on your own.

You know Ive never had an issue at the TA in London nor the Petro in Gary. I will echo W. Memphis AR or and of the TS on the I40 corridor in AR. All have police behind the counters but aside from those I haven't really had many I would say stay away from. I guess because Im in the truck by 8 and dont come out til the sun comes up but then again Im more concerned about creep truckers than lot lizzards lol

The Flying J on the east side of Kansas City Exit 57 on I-435 across the street from the Blue Beacon. Was bothered by lot lizards 3 time in one night. Last one was after the sun was coming up. The first one I got up for not knowing what was going on. 2nd one I did not bother to get up. 3rd one came over as I was sitting in the drivers seat eating my pop tarts and getting ready to get on the road.

Since then, I avoid that Flying J. That Flying J also only has the hot food bar, no other eating establishment available at the T/S. It also is very tight parking and the parking lot is just nasty......

That is one tiny truck stop. Trucks are parked on the street before sundown, that's how tight the parking is.

I've been there only once. I've heard stories about that truck stop.

That's the one that charges for parking, and has the Knights Inn motel, right?
