Women make up 47% of the total U.S. workforce. Yet only 6% of all truck drivers are women, according to data from the Labor Department and the ATA.

Thank you Errol, for getting some of my other ideas/secrets out. It comes out much better from a male. If I would have said something like that, I might have been tarred and feathered.

Luckily, at 52 years YOUNG, I was able to catch on to the reference of Fred and Ginger. Now you have me thinking about driving a truck with heels on. Hmmmm...

Errol, the dancing I could handle but I look terrible in heels.

Robert B- I would have never guessed you. In heels. You seemed squared away- with some good writings.

Oh well. You just can't tell with some people.

Lynette has a secret:

There are several other reasons I can think why companies would be happy to get us, but I don't want to hurt any of the guys feelings here. You know how sensitive and emotional they get. Lol!

Let's see ....
* Women aren't so egotistical.
* Women are more level headed on a day to day basis.
* Women have more patience.
* (Most people under 50 may not get this.) Ginger Rogers danced step for step with Fred Astaire, only backwards and in high heels.

Luckily I am under 50 and know of the beautiful Ginger Rogers. She did it for real. Today all the female stars seem to be in high heels running and kicking butt, but that is all make believe. I will take my Nike's any day over glamour, but she was great.

In my opinion there is nothing hotter than a female drivin a big rig every time I see a 110 pounder jumpin down and checkin the load and rig I am extremely impressed.

There is a stigma surrounding truck drivers but I truly believe a female can do ANY job out here that the man standing next to her could do.

Little syster is a shining example of this. Stay tuff, bug the heck outta those recruiters. But be polite. Firm. And above all else be determined to reach your dream in trucking. It's been the best decision I've made in 18 years.

... a secret security weapon, instead of one of those Kubotas? Just a quick swing to grab one of those 3 inchers off a foot and whack. Legal to possess/carry, too!

Actually, the reason I said the heels was after doing a zombie drag queen a few years ago for Halloween. None of my friends recognized me until I spoke, it was awesome and uncomfortable shoe wise.

I also saw a cross dressing driver a while back who drove in 4" heels. I was like dammit that's talent.
