"This sound moves America, it just moves some of us a little bit more."

That was awesome!
I remember when we would run down to the bigger highway and get the trucks to blow their horns. Somehow one of us heard from an older brother or something that the cabovers were called "semi's" and the conventionals were called "long nose". We also decided that three or more trucks in a group was considered a convoy and that of course called for an altogether different dance and far more shouting.
Very cool!
I have to say......it strikes me as quite remarkable how many people come into this profession so cynical and negative. Because for me it was all about what an amazing life it would be to drive a big rig around this awesome country. I was only 21 when I started and the thought of driving a brand new beautiful rig from coast to coast and living on the road consumed me from the time I first considered the idea. The closer the time came for me to actually do it the less sleep I got at night. I was so fired up about it I thought my head was gonna explode.
But then to actually be out there doing it??? I just couldn't believe it. What a life. There aren't too many things you can do in the world today that tops driving an American rig from coast to coast. Great times!
Thanks...really, really cool.
That's awesome brings back a lot of memories but for most of my trucking life I drove a Volvo and the air horn was in the center of the steering wheel so when kids would do the arm thing I always felt kinda funny pushing the horn instead of pulling it
OMG I remember riding in the back of my parents' Pinto station wagon when my brother and I were really, really little and we were driving cross country to visit family. Crazy.
