My trainer's Rand McNally Trucker Gps worked out great. A tremendous amount of lot data and was very quick. When you made a wrong turn, it would reset automatically and give you a new routing. Showed all the truck stops. Not sure on monthly cost or what is done to get updated real time info- if that is automatically downloaded. Also not sure if you need to buy a new one each year.
Having the speed limit of the road I was on was very helpful.
I use the Rand McNally 5" and I've been happy with it. Updates are free as most of them are.
What Rand McNally models do you guys have? Rand McNally 5" Trucker GPS TND530LM has live fuel prices on the map.
Roadtrucker has the 530LMN FOR $289.99. http://www.roadtrucker.com/gps-truck-routing/tnd510-rand-mcnally-commercial-gps-for-trucks.htm
I currently have a refurbished 530 that I picked up on Amazon for cheap but it occasionally has power issues. I'm going to upgrade to the Garmin Dezl 7 series though because it does so much more and allows full edit capability when you use the e-logs. E-logs with the flexibility of paper, the best of both worlds.
I was also looking into the garmin dezl , I like the fact it's compatible with your phone and has the built in dash cam plus you can add the external camera and use it while backing .

It also has other features which for a small company or O/O are really nice. It will track all your miles state by state and calculate IFTA taxes them allow you to email it, making taxes much easier throughout the year.

Rookie here and I've been trying to figure out what gps I should look into buying soon. I was wondering what everyone was using, how accurate and what helpful tools it offers.
