A quick look on YouTube got me a 5 minute cellphone video of the accident happening.

Note, several trucks stopped safely, but then were rear ended.

If you get caught in a similar situation - slick road, limited visibility - and you can stop, step 2 is to pull off the road as far as you can.

It's easier to pull an 80,000 pound truck out of mud than it is to tow away a mangled tractor and a busted trailer with freight tossed all over the place.

Above all, you can hear the shouting: "Get out of there!". If you can, get out of the truck and safely off to the side.

A huge accident caused by low visibility and slick roads.

And wasn't someone just saying the other day that the CB radio is nothing but trash talk and the idea that you should have one is just a bunch of old timers hanging onto the past? Now how many of those trucks would have barrelled into that wreck if people were using their CB's?

Terry said that a few days ago. I wound up deleting the thread because it was mainly just several of us arguing about it and wasn't helping anyone.

Be grateful, at least he didn't punch you in the face like he did to that guy in the fuel island!

rofl-3.gif I am indeed grateful. And I'll be careful who I talk to at the fuel island.

I remember seeing pics on Facebook from this accident along with one's from the one in Michigan that involved a ton of vehicles. In both cases, there were drivers on the radio yelling for people to shut it down. Drivers either had their radios off or didn't have one and wound up involved in the accident.

+1 for CB😂

While I can certainly understand any statements made about there being mostly trash talk on the CB, it's hardly useless and just a bunch of old timer's trying to live in the past. Granted when I was on the road I usually had my CB off due to all the Rambo's, but there is still the weather channel on there, and 19 is still useful from time to time.

So THAT'S what happened. I was reading through, and when I went to go to the last page, and got the error, I was like, wtf, where did it go? I refreshed several times, and then gave up. ☺

Is it a bad sign, that after seeing my nephew's Tahoe, I wanted to consider trucking again? 😕
