They only hire experienced drivers.
Look up The Little Guy show on youtube... he drives for Raven. He used to be OTR driver but current is doing day cab regional. plenty of videos to give you info though. He kinda moves around a lot on his jobs though, he's worked for werner, raven OTR, raven day cab, prime, raven OTR and now raven daycab again... one of those types he wants to be home more but wants the pay of OTR... meh his life not mine but his videos are pretty informative.
They don't hire new drivers though, need 6 mo - 1 yr of driving exp.
Also hiring area is limited to east coast, nj down to FL area and the southern states fl to Dallas/Houston, tx area, they only just added the dallas/houston area
that's as much info I can provide that you can take to the bank since I don't work for them, just going based off of info from the little guy show. start pay is something like 46-48CPM
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
