My Facebook page is pretty simple, stupid pictures, lots of cars and guns and me making fun of my friends and myself.

And his company didn't put him up to it? A company would "NEVER" ask a driver to "fudge" his logs.

FHP looking into claims by Lakeland-bound truck driver that he drove 20+ hours without sleep

The Florida Highway Patrol is now looking into a truck driver's posts on Facebook, bragging that he drove more than 20-hours straight without sleeping in order to get a good pay day.

Out of all truck drivers, how did the police figure this one out??

Someone saw his Facebook post and reported it to the police.

It's fair game.

Yeah, really you never could if someone who had any power in your life wanted to dig for dirt. Pretty common for employers to look at your fb page, which is yet another reason not to have one.

You can always lock it down in the privacy settings.

LOL After having my FB acct locked, They caught up to me, and didn't like my "Screen name" (not my real name used last 6+years) I had to send a pic of my drivers license to get my account back.....You know this is all because now. they work with/for the CIA/FBI, etc due to "National Security" Well I'm no terrorist, but after that, I deleted ALL my real pics, reset my privacy even deeper than previously set. ONLY People on my friends list can see any posts I make.....And I don't collect "friends" for a high # count, trimmed em down to just 40 peeps, -120 "friends"

Besides, if you DON'T tell any prospective employer your user name on FB, how the h3ll they gunna find ya?? The new map feature of "Where you've been" lol just another way for whoever to track your movements in the world....

It IS a good thing I guess, to bust all the Idiots that do post dumb bragging stuff (Can't fix stupid), pic's of em with cash from dope sales, Illegal weapons, perverts and such

I don't doubt that there are idiots on Facebook or elsewhere, my point was that I could open up a fake FB account under whatever name I choose and start posting stupid s**t ... like I drove for 20+ hours straight, etc, etc. How do the police even have enough manpower to investigate all the crap that is posted online?

By the way, I think Facebook is the gayest and scariest invention of the 21st century. If you use Facebook, you have just given up your privacy. Anything and everything posted of Facebook or Linked-in or elsewhere is all saved and combed thru by the government. I wouldn't be surprised if they had access to all your Google searches and stuff. Make no mistake, after the 9-11 attacks, the US became a police state. And all the fools are willingly sharing every detail about their lives on Facebook! Silly rabbits!

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

I can sort of answer that... Police have various departments with various duties depending on the dept, you have the patrol unit, swat unit, vice unit, homacide unit, drug enforcment unit, various training departments, etc... I can actually add at least 2x as many more but my point being is they all have different departments and those departments have certain jobs they do... vice for example for SAPD (san antonio) mostly focus on busting prostitution (that's like 75% of their work easily), but they also work on trafficing (human and drug), keeping tabs on "massage parlors" making sure they are staying legal... no happy ending mmmkay :P, adult stores have certain rules to follow, as do our strip clubs... they manage all that stuff... to the avg joe you probably think "how does the police have the staff to care about that" well it's because it's a seperate dept and not part of others... patrol unit has the most officers, the other depts are less than 50 per unit.

I'm in the San Antonio Citziens Police Acad, which is something they started back in 94 to help with the transparency of what the police actually do... most people don't know... bet you didn't know half the stuff the vice dept does if you even knew it existed. this past tuesdays class i learned about the firearms training and got to shoot 5 rounds of a smith and wesson 40 cal... that was fun :D anyways getting off topic... hopefully my first paragraph gave you an acceptable answer :)
