Since we kinda have a thread about trucking songs, I was wondering what movies/tv shows, either about or featuring trucks, do y'all find enjoyable? Old classics, and new stuff alike. I like "Black Dog," "Big Rig (documentary)," and of course "Smoky and the Bandit."

Come on everyone, Big Wheels Rolling, Gotta keep them Movin, Big Wheels Rooling, "Movin On",. Will and Sonny were so cool back then, and believable.

The Best of the Best, truck driving, TV show has got to be, "BJ AND THE BEAR", I mean, I see trucks with Apes in the passenger seat everyday. Don't you? Unbelievable but still a fun show.

Another one... "Duel" starring Dennis weaver as a terrified four-wheeler being stalked by a psycho tanker driver... That one gave me nightmares when I was little

Remake of Duel:

Wrecker

Do not watch Smokey and the Bandit 2, it will ruin your love of the first one.

I can totally agree to that!!!

The movie Over the Top comes to mind

So I heard a while back. My brother-in-law had it along with the 1st on dvd. When I saw it and inquired about it's quality in relation to the first is when I heard it was rubbish. It's unfortunate as it seems the same happened with Cannonball Run. I thoroughly enjoy the first, yet weep at what how bad the 2nd film was.

I really like "they drive buy night". A 1940s move about truck driving.

No one has mentioned "Every Which Way But Loose" yet. Clint Eastwood plays a trucker turned prize fighter. And has an orangutan. And it's his highest grossing movie ever. And I think he runs over a bunch of motorcycles with his truck at one point, but I might be confusing that with another movie.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

I don't feel that Over The Top, Every Which Way But Loose, or Big Trouble in Little China are trucking movies. Yes, they have characters in them that drive trucks, but their trucking is secondary to the plot and motivations of the characters. I do have to let them stand because I'm about to mention a film that has trucks, truck driving, truck stunts, yet you could argue it has very little to do with trucking - the 1953 film Le Salaire De La Peur (The Wages of Fear). A film that was imitated in 1958 as Violent Highway and remade by William Friedkin in 1977 as Sorcerer

Not at all like OTR , eh?

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
