I'm getting ready to start my phase 2 with a trainer and when I'm done I'll get my truck (hopefully) now I can't bring it home because I live on a military base in MO and the nearest terminal for my company is 2 hours away. :/ so ideas on where to park it? There's like 2 big gas stations that are kind shady near by but any better ideas on where I should look?
Where are the truck stops near the base? Usually you'll have no problem even to leave it parked for 34 hours. Best bet is a local operated stop. You know, the neighborhood kind. Talk to management, I'm sure they'll be amenable.
Say, what happens when you PCS?
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Usually your company will work with you to find the most efficient spot, depending on their resources.what company are you with?

Walmart's, Lowe's and other very large stores of that type usually have no issue with letting drivers park their truck at the store while on home time.
I have also seen where drivers have parked their truck at a shopping mall during their home time. The key to parking at these types of places is to contact the management of said establishment and make the proper arrangements to park the truck.
Where in MO do you live? There are many truck stops in MO, no reason you can't park at one for your home time.

It looks likevRoehl wants you to find a secure location by your house. Ernie has good advice. Youbcan even check with some dinners. I know a few by me, that have a big lot for trucks too, and will let you park there while the home.

Camille - check with a storage place near you that people store their vehicles. Maybe you could set something up with them for a few bucks a day, keep receipts and talk to task adviser about writing off as employee expense. There a storage place near my house that I've seen a couple tractors in there for a couple days and gone for awhile, so I'm assuming thats what they are doing. Doing it that way most storage facilities require access code and have surveillance cams.
