To me it's actually not so much about my stuff disappearing, but more of having my own privacy, specially after a long day, I want to be able to relax, not have to worry about what I'm wearing to bed or walking around my room (or NOT wearing), and I sleep VERY lightly, therefor I wake up at every little sound someone makes. I also CANNOT sleep without white noise (a fan) and a lot of people like complete silence. I also can't sleep in complete darkness. That's not even mentioning how I'd get annoyed/grossed out by some other aspects of sharing tight quarters with a stranger.

I guess this is why I'd never do good in an emergency shelter (I have a big generator so I can stay home) and I already told my kids to never send me to a retirement home. Just give me a kill pill! lolllll

I am the same exact way i can't sleep without "white noise" I have a fan in my room running when i sleep too even in the winter. It gets so quiet where i live you can hear someone fart the next house over lol

Like i said this may be trivial to some but to me it's an important issue. If you don't sleep well at orientation it can screw up your chances of passing the training. But if i'm forced to share a room i will do it and tough it out ofcorse. Maybe i'll bring a tiny desk fan with me that will fit in a backpack.

You could also bring a small tent and set it up in the room HAHAH! just kidding

Don't laugh, there are sleep pods or tents that you can purchase, which are supposed to isolate you from noise, while providing privacy. : D

I have seen pics of Google head quarters, and they have a floor with sleeping pods on it. They encourage their workers to use them also.
