If you really feel the need for more protection , stun guns of the high end veriety are a good legal option in nearly every state and province BUT they can be called a weapon so some places company policys still would like them but if nobody knows oyu have it ... i know a few women truckers and most of them have brains and can take care of themselves by using the brain instead of the martial arm . my personal opinion is you as a woman are at a slight dis advantage as you are more of a target than a man but you can reduce just how much by thinking ahead and some common sense. i wont say you will be fine because you know jack murphy but odds are you will do alright

I have taken self defense classes, but there is some shady places out there. I started this thread mostly becouse I couldnt explain to a friend why I cant carry a gun with me in a truck. It just kind of evolved. I just figuered if I need protection at some point my truck will give me legally what I need. Things that I use everyday. If a taiser is illigal in some places I cant take one either. I appreciate all the comments not just for me, but other woman.

Pebbles does the company you're at allow pets? If so, maybe a dog will help? The dog can be you're ears when your in dreamland, and the sight of the dog sitting on you're front seat waiting for you to come back will be a great deterrent to anyone who gets any cowboy ideas.

I agree with Dan. Unfortunately, not all companies allow pets, or if they do, you have to pay a huge deposit upfront. I always either carried my tire thumper, or I have a big hefty walking stick with deer antler on the top, makes for a wicked spear!! I had LEO training, and they do train the women different in some areas, cuz women don't have the upper body strength that men do. But I also took so "stick training". numchux, long stick, and black snake....great training, and good for a woman. No criminal thinks that I could hurt em with my walking stick,,,fool ya !! As far as tazers...If I could carry one like the LEO use, you betcha !! But if mine can't shoot the spikes, I don't want to get THAT close to zap him. You are always safer, if you maintain distance...always always..Don't ever let a stranger into your "air space".
