Did you DL a truck stop app? I use Trucker Path. Another is Trucker Tools.
Find your destination on the app's map, and you should see stops nearby. Asking for "truck stops near Arlington VA" won't get the same results.
I'll try those apps, thanks.
Wish I could help but a pic In front of the White House in a Melton truck would be cool

Haha. If I can pull it off I will. I'm delivering to the First street tunnel project and was told you can see the White House from there. Hoping to get some kinda pic.
Really wanting to visit Arlington while I'm up that way. Couple guys I served with are buried there.
There is definitely no place to park in front of Arlington that I remember. You might have to rent a cab.
I found a website that is interactive map for DC. Truck routes, restrictions and loading areas. http://www.godcgo.com/home/group-travel/truck-and-bus-map.aspx
Thanks for that info SamTon. May use it if I go back that way.
Just got off the phone with consigned and he said there is overnight parking at the job site. Looks like I'll be spending the night right in the middle of D.C. So that's cool. Maybe get a few photo ops.
That is great!! Not sure what time you will be finished but remember all the Smithsonian Museums are FREE
I'll try those apps, thanks.
Trucker Path shows you where the Walmarts are, too. So, if you're not bound to a truck stop, you could park at a Walmart. If you're headed northwest after your DC drop, you could stop at the Walmart in Gaithersburg, MD. I see trucks in there frequently, parked for the day or night.
Steve
You definitely won't be able to park in DC proper. You can go to either VA or MD. Here is a link of VA rest areas. It's a link that will show you links for information about rest and welcome areas throughout VA. Note that some are car only, no trucks. I don't know of a comparable site for MD.
I live in VA, west on Rt. 66 in Manassas. If you need any pointers about where to go specifically, let me know!

Hey guys I'll be headed to DC today. Downside is my clock runs out a couple hours after I deliver. Do y'all know where the closest place to park would be? Not finding to much online. Looks like I'll have to go into Maryland or Virginia though. Thanks for the help.
