It's a great story Carl!

Thanks for sharing it with us! Sometimes there is just nothing like a dog in our lives. I had to put my farm dog "Cricket" down at the vet recently. She was suffering too badly from cancer. It just about killed me to do it, but since I am not there at home a lot I didn't want my wife and girls to wake up one day with a dead dog on their hands to deal with.

She was a Catahoula - a sort of a cur breed from Catahoula Parrish in Louisiana. They are used for herding cattle and hunting hogs. We named her Cricket because when she was just a pup her breeding instincts would cause her to herd the crickets in our yard up into a little bunch and circle them barking so that she could keep them bunched up together in a holding pattern. What a mess that dog was! We had a lot of great times together.

Carl, I am glad you found that best friend, we all need saving at some point. I wish you good luck finding the perfect company for you and your friend. :)

I think you are right old school about that. Just in case some one is or needs to claim their dog as a (service animal) here in MT theres is a long process that takes place in order to do that. Here you can no longer say this is my service animal, it has to be documented along with wearing a color green vest. Now I am not sure what trucking companies require however when renting a place here, you have to have documentation along with a certified vest for your animal.

Carl... that was one seriously touching story and dang near brought me to tears... that's not easy to do.

I'm glad you found someone that can make you happy... even if he does walk on 4 legs instead of two :D

Carl, Glad to hear things are looking up for you. I did not see PTL, Paschall Truck Lines, in the list of pet friendly companies. There is a $500, $250 non-refundable, deposit and then it is $10 a week. Normally, your dog would have to wait to be with you until you completed training. Since Cowboy is a licensed service dog, I am not sure how that would affect things.
