I have been wondering something about company trucks a maybe a silly question. As a new driver you will be given and older company truck and rightly so i have no qualms about that, but what about the matresses in the sleepers when do they get changed out do they get changed out or cleaned? I am a clean guy and the idea of sleeping on adirty matress that multiple peolle have done god knows what on kinda grosses me out.

The truck whether its new or old depends on your company. You will probably get a preowned truck. As far as mattresses you can request a new one if they haven't changed it already.

I found out an old friend of mine works for the company that handles the matresses for the company I work for. I told him to hook me up with some back room pillow top secret stash gear. He said he would. We'll see if that's true in a few months when I get a truck.

Britton R. I will look you up when I get assigned a truck of my own. rofl-1.gifrofl-2.gifrofl-3.gif

I plan on getting an air mattress myself. Those thin truck mattresses can't be that comfy.

Keep it safe out there. Joe S

My first truck(two years ago) was a 2006 Freightliner Century with 900k on it. It was clean when I got it and had a brand new mattress in it, but that will vary by company.

My next truck was a brand new 2012 Cascadia that I had to rip the plastic off the seats and off the rolled up mattress under the bunk.

I know what I intend to do. I am going to stack a couple layers of that eggshell foam rubber on top of the mattress to give some protection from old body leavings (ewww) if present, and to add comfort.
