If you have a parking spot for it, then I would just cancel the insurance. If you ever need a car, a quick call to your insurance broker and you'll be set to go. How much could you get for an '02 Accord? Unless I really needed the money, I'd be happier to know that I have a car just in case.
Yeah, true. I could just park it in the garage. I don't figure I'd get more than $2000 for it, and that's just because it's in good condition with relatively low mileage for the age. insurance costs me $140 for six months on that one. I guess I was just worried about stuff breaking on it if it just sits for weeks or months at a time. might not be worth worrying about.
I keep a bike at my home terminal , how far do you live from your terminal? Haveing a vehical there is always nice at my second home terminal I used to keep an 83 I think it was Mazda pick up never had any problems and insurence was dirt cheep.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
If your going to keep it your wife needs to drive it once a week. Sitting is about the worst thing you can do to a vehicle. Gas will eventually varnish and bugger up the fuel system, tires start to dry rot, moisture finds a way to build up inside causing mold and mildew, oh and rats/mice/squirrels. Some sort of rodent is going to get in there and start chewing wires.
I got rid of my car but I go home once every few months. What you should do is decide whether or not you want the trouble of keeping it but the luxury of having it when you go back. For me it wasn't worth keeping it but at times it is very restrictive.

yeah, I thought about that. my wife can't drive it for me though, so unfortunately it's not an option. would rats/mice/squirrels get into it even if I had it parked in the garage? it's a heated and attached garage. maybe in could dump sta-bil in the tank and just make sure I drive it when I co.e home. I will be doing 14 days out I believe.
I would sell mine if my wife had one cuz the last thing I want to do when I get home is drive.... And since she has one and if you need to go anywhere you could use hers....like said above its one of the worst things you can do to a car is sit it.
I kinda have to have one. If you live in the Atlanta area like me its a necessity. But it's a cheapo. I keep it at my parents house so they can use it when I'm out.

I got rid of mine. Made a nice trade with a guy for a new heat/air system for our house. No more worrying about the car and no worries about having to replace our air system.

so I think I'm getting hired by roehl. she told me shes sending me am email to get my DOT physical paid by them, and my background is fine. do any of your guys still keep a car, or should I sell it? my wife will still have her honda odyssey, but I'm wondering if it's worth paying insurance on a car that I will be driving 2-3 times a month. the upside is that my car is paid for and not worth a whole lot (02 honda accord) but I just don't know what to do in that case.
DOT:
