James, neither one of us knows your solution is faster or not. I will have Kevin do a demo video comparison between the two products, testing 1) ease of use, 2) winding speed, 3) strap removal ease and speed, 4) ability to handle different types of straps / ropes, 5) etcetera.

I still haven't seen your suggested solution in action in a video. Until I do, and compare it to the performance of the ReelEZ solution, there's no way to know which tool is actually the best for the job.

I'm also not sure why you keep saying the ReelEZ is "complicated." It's based on a WHEEL. What could be simpler?

This thread is cracking me up. Only flatbedders would argue the finer details of strap winders!

For my money, the standard $12 job I got from Prime's equipment guys works just fine. And I will say, I've seen guys who've done this for 20 years roll 'em faster by hand than I can do with my strap winder, so there's that too.

The ReelEZ is a great product! The handle on the back for hanging over the rub rail fits snugly and allows you to place it in multiple places along the side of your trailer. There's no rocking or excessive wobbling when winding up the straps. The enclosed reel ensures that your straps are wound up nice and tight with one hand. You'll not be left with a cone shaped strap afterwards. There was a lot of experimenting with designing the ReelEZ before the final product was made. With the special, patented design of the ReelEZ, pulling the front off the reel to extract your straps is quick and easy without any resistance.

Nope, not spam. I'm merely just trying to clarify a few, incorrect claims about the ReelEZ reel. I'm sorry that you've not had success with similar reels. The inventor owned his own, small trucking business for 30+ years. After years of dealing with straps and using numerous different products, this is the design that he came up with and liked the most. I'm sure that like many other things in life, it's all about personal preference though. For anyone interested in seeing the product being used, you can look us up on ReelEZ.com. There's a short demo on there. Have a good day!

Alleata, I'm sure this is a great product, but I couldn't help hearing Billy Mays reading this!
