Dave sizes things up:
. I would suggest getting a regular queen or king size sheet,
The actual size for most truck bunks is TWIN LONG, coded as TXL.
Thank you Errol. BTW, I speak from experience because I am currently a part time slip seat driver. So not only am I loading and unloading my personal bedding from my personal vehicle to a Freightliner once or twice a week, I am am also laying it over a random fellow driver's stuff. Quick and easy to use a king size sheet, comforter and two pillows and roll it up in a big ball and throw it where it needs to go. I don't need to undo or remake someone else's bedding this way. This system would work fine with a trainee as well.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Yeah, handy hints developed through experience. I have shared a bunk only in road training. The rest of the time it's been a bunk just for me.
Now I slip seat on a daily basis. The life of a shuttle driver. And no bunk of bedding to mess with.

Been there done that! Taken a few naps across the seats, or even curled around the shifter on the floor of a day cab. Ahh, trucking! Sometimes nice to have a gig where you're home every night though.
A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.

Vamps idea of a self inflating mattress is fine. Apparently a few of you think this is those cheap air mattresses that take 15 minutes to blow up. It's not. From a rolled up state, you simply unscrew a valve cap and normal air pressure self inflated it to an inch thick pad, then close the cap again. To deflate, open the cap, roll it up, and close the cap to keep it deflated. Simple and quick. Even quicker, of course, since in this scenario the top bunk is not being used is to leave it inflated and just throw it up there when not in use.
The issue of sheets is real. A fitted sheet is useless for slip-bedding. Trainers stuff is already on the mattress, your twin sheet won't fit over all of that, in addition to being too short anyway. A full or queen size fitted sheet won't fit either. I would suggest getting a regular queen or king size sheet, laying that over the camping mattress, and a medium blanket over that. Two light blankets might be fine too to accomplish the varying temperature and comfort levels. Keep in mind the bunk has controls for heating and cooling. There is no need to hunker down with some big sleeping bag. This setup of a blanket and oversize sheet can be rolled up and tossed in the upper bunk, followed by the mattress (again, already inflated), in literally five seconds. Setting up may take ten seconds, even allowing for a king size sheet to be tucked in if desired.
