Don't leave, just stop leasing. Leasing a truck with no experience was a huge mistake. Turn in your truck and become a company driver, you will be much happier. If you leave, you will be able to find another job but many, many companies are going to balk at only 2 months of experience. Most will probably have you go back out with a trainer. If TransAm sponsored your CDL schooling they could also prevent you from getting hired elsewhere.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Trans am is notorious for pushing the lease option. I was looking at them for a while until I talked to a recruiter. He told me that company drivers will sit more, because they want you to lease. I am still bummed, because they were my top choice, at first.
But like C.S. stated, stick it out for as long as you can, as a company driver, or a LO, and then at your 3 month mark start sending out other apps. A lot companies will start looking at you with 6 months experience. And some as few as 3.
One thing I have learned about them is is a lot is smoke and mirrors dealing with them. Do anybody know of any companies that will let you run a dedicated route with only 3 months experience???
A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

I've been a lease operator for Trans am trucking for 2 months now and before I started I wasn't sure if I was making a good decision. Now that I'm driving I'm starting to think I didn't make a good decision. I'm getting good miles but it doesn't seem like the pay is matching plus im not really feeling the otr job. I'm wondering if I leave now will any other companies touch me?
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
I was lease operator for Trans Am back in 2014 for 4 months, I went 6 weeks with $0 settlements but they got out lease payment, Fuel maintenance monies out off top and I went home with NOTHING. I turned in my truck and left company due to their policies once u lease you can't go back company.
