Okay so my trailer lights stopped working a while ago, I threw my 4 ways on and pulled into the first lot I saw, so I made a uturn in the mall entrance so I could be set up to get out, no cara around or anything. I ended up tearing the grass up a little bit because my truck turns super wide, well come to find out this weird plastic flat cover was in the grass and also got ran over and water stared leaking out all over the parking lot. Any idea what it might even be? I'm kinda freaking out now, I had no idea because it was a flat cover in the grass and there was basically nowhere else for me to pull off the road to check my lights.

Sounds like a sprinkler head cover.

STOP! Ask yourself: did anyone die? It's water, not oil or some other Haz mat. It's grass, not cars or a fence. Yeah, it sucks that it happened, but it's really not THAT bad. I'd hope your Co would understand and cut you some slack.

We have school buses run over water meters- sprinkler heads all the time. I don't think you would get fired over it

Z sorry to hear that happened. Tight turning radius, in a mall, did you GOAL before completing your U-turn?

This could be a sticky situation if the owner of the mall got your little mishap on camera. Not sure who you work for but if it's a large carrier it's likely the mall will call your company if someone saw it or it was recorded. It's damage they will need to repair and it will cost them money. Even if the mall's insurance covers it, it could effect their rates.

The way I see it you can let it ride and hope that no one saw you or be professional about it and report it to your employer.

If you let it ride and the mall calls your employer it may not turn out in your favor. This is probably not what you want to hear and you may not agree but you need to weigh the risk of not reporting it vs. reporting it.

Good luck. Safe travels.
