I am still stuck on your statement that he has bad eyesight! What is a person like that doing driving for a living!? Are you kidding me??? This guy should have never been allowed into a truck. This is a real safety issue and if no one does anything it will end badly. Talk to CRST's safety officer right away.
Same here. How could he pass the medical exam if his eyes are that bad?
Have you told the guy how you feel? I didn't see that anywhere clear the air with him
Cwc describes his co-driver as:
He has bad eye sight
Maybe co-driver can pass the E Z C B eye chart, but Cwc is concerned maybe his co doesn't really comprehend what he's looking at.
Lol Errol something like that... If you have 5 pairs of glasses all for different purposes you can pass the test but that doesn't mean you have great vision.

Irregardless, a person like that has no business driving on public roads.
Update time... So my old codriver hoped off the truck while being routed to a terminal for a change of codrivers. After the nearly running a school bus off the road incident and a few other issues he decided trucking with CRST wasn't for him. Which would be the only reason I could see abandoning a truck but apparently he didn't remember from school that'll not be an option. So I'm currently picking a new codriver in two days time. We already spoke a few times and he has good vision (thank god) .
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Don't know how I missed this thread the first time. Glad you're getting a new codriver, hopefully this one works out and it doesn't turn into an "out of the frying pan, into the fire" situation.
I stress to people all the time how important it is to trust your teammate. If you can't, you won't sleep well and you will not be able to make it work long term. I can think of very few people in my life besides my boyfriend that I could trust behind the wheel enough to get decent sleep.
As to other sleeping issues while teaming (rough roads and noise being the two biggest challenges) I take otc sleeping pills and wear good quality earplugs. This helps, but sometimes I still get poor sleep. It's just a reality of teaming.

Glad this is finally turning around for you. Good for you.
