Personally, I would stick the extra couple weeks out to get the extra vacation time. Only you can decide if you should or not based on your finances, just keep in mind you likely won't be making hardly anything right away while training

You didn't mention your school. Assuming the most common situation, you won't be paid for your school time before you get your CDL license. A $1600 stash will work out very nicely.
If your school is OK with the extra month, it's a deal. BTW, an extra four weeks at a "job you hate" won't be so bad because you know it will be all over soon.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

so I'm going to be going to school, background done, everything is in order, just gotta determine when to get started. they'd like me to start the week of January 11, which is roght after my daughters birthday. that's fine, but if I wait a month after that, I'll get vacation pay from my current employer, which will be around $1,600, minus taxes. is it worth staying four extra weeks at a job that I hate in order to get a 2 week extra paycheck?
Take 2 weeks vacation and use it as your two week notice. Get paid the first two weeks of school.
Alright, it seems unanimous. I'll stick it out another month.
