Those are good questions for the recruiter too. I always recommend calling the recruiter and seeing if they have an bulk info they can email you, and then asking every question you can. Then come here to verify it too. I've met a lot of guys that were happy at roehl.
How does it work with their CDL training? Do you have money taken out of your check every week to pay for the training? Or do you simply sign a contract for 1 year of employment with them?
Also I'm in southeast PA 45 mins north of Philly. What location would i go to for training? Also is there any terminals in PA near me? thanks
Yes, these are recruiter questions. To pay for training there's basically three ways I've heard about: payments like you wrote, a reduced CPM for a certain miles or weeks, or you contract to drive a bajillion miles for the company.
Also the recruiter will tell you which schools are available to you. Also, you might look somewhere on their recruiting web pages for school locations.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
You sign a contract to stay with the company for a certain number of miles. At the time I went through, that was 120,000 miles. Since they are paying you during your CDL school now, that may have changed, but your recruiter will tell you

Newbie...it would be a good choice. I would suggest you call Roehls CDL school and talk to Kim Calhoun about the specifics of the school. I know for me..it was a mileage commitment of 120,000. They started paying school attendees shortly after I graduated so I don't know specifics. I do know that they are straight up and you wouldn't go wrong with them. They won't deduct for the school. It's simply a mileage deal. Roehl operates a drop yard in Bensalem Pa. The closest terminal to you would most likely be Atlanta. Gary Indiana would be a close 2nd. There are two places you could go for school. Marshfield Wi....aka..the mothership.....or Fox Valley in Appleton Wi. Good luck!
