Or how about another Swift truck from Ft. Wayne to Chicago or wherever you're heading next?

I think you're asking another driver to go to the Greyhound station, grab the stuff and take it to the Chicago terminal.

Sorry, but honestly it would be hard to find a trucker who would take their own time to do that. Remember there's no money in this good deed, and it will affect their drive time clocks and cost the driver time, too.

Swift and must other companies are not quite that close a family. LittleTrucker is basically on his own here.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

No not yet. But at least they're working on it now. I got my Driver Leader to conference call my trainer's dispatcher and we're seeing some results.

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Just saw this. Not only would another driver most likely not be willing to do this, but also, Greyhound will not release my bag to anyone other than me. Btw, I know you would have no way of knowing this but I'm a she lol. A female trucker

Tlt sorry to here things are not going well. The driver develpment people have a lot of say on how things work with training trucks and the dm have a lot of say. A lot of the times you get a dm and I ddc that get in a power struggle, for some reason. Don't know if that's what's going on here or not. Also is your mentor a l/o or company? And one last thing is if you need to you can get a company advance on your check to get what ever you have to have on the road I think the Mac is 105 dollars per week.

Good luck

My trainer is a company driver. Don't you have to pay back interest on those advances? Right now I'm not making much in training so I don't want to dig a hole for myself.

I did not have to repay interest in it.but that was over 2 years ago. Non of my students have told me about having to pay interest. Just make share you cash your checks at a truck stot after getting at least 50 gals of fuel to avoid there fees.
