Get a local job. Go home every night.

That would be nice, if I could find one where I don't have to handle the freight...

Danielsahn got half way there:

Basically, if you are Team driving during training, the truck rarely stops for more than a few minutes, and for fuel.

Nearly all truck stops have a "pull forward" area at the fuel line. Fill'er up, pull forward, go inside to do your business. That includes rest room as well as spending money on eats & stuff, should you be so inclined.

I definitely want to run hard and get training over with. I couldn't less about someone peeing in a bottle.. Wish I had the ability :p

Google "lady J", or "go girl". Many sports women I ski with use them. When its 10 below zero and they have to pee, they use one of these devices to pee like a guy through the zipper. They keep them in a plastic bag along with a couple wipes and you're good to go. Pee like a man ladies!

Halfway is better than not all!!smile.gif

Thanks for the additional clarification Errol, I did not know that.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were skeptical about me making it "out there". I will make it. At my age, I've had enough struggles that I know what I'm willing to deal with, and what I'm not willing to deal with. :)

I second or third or fourth the opinion about the she wees & go girls. Imagine having a ***** to pee, then putting it in your bag before you have to deal with the less-pleasant aspects of that aparatus. Now it's the mens' turn to be jealous. Find a dark bottle with a secure lid that's small enough to fit discretely in your shower bag.

As for showering, I think our fetching purple lady advised best for the times when down & dirty may be the only option.

I have a few 5 gallon ice cream buckets with snap-on lids. They work great for warm water sponge baths. Sometimes during the day, my hands just get really dirty, and if there's no sink around, I can still use real soap and water to clean up a bit. I always have a few gallons jugs of water along.

I have washed my hair at rest stops, but most places have those motion detector things and you can't get enough water to rinse with. In the summer, I have stood next to the truck in my parking spot and just dumped a gallon of water over my head. Hey, don't judge, it worked. I also have long hair, and in a pinch, have pulled it back into a ponytail, and used the bucket like a sink to wash my bangs and the top of my head. Not perfect, but it makes my head feel decent for a day or so.

One of those buckets is designated (and clearly marked) as the "kitty litter porta-potty". Line with plastic bags, a couple scoops of kitty litter, and well, there ya go. (sorry, bad pun)

"...out there."

I said, "Out, here," which in some circles, over the radio, means I'm "signing" off of the radio. Some just say, "Out." It means whoever is communicating, i.e., those in the military, trucking, fire department, have exchanged enough information to accomplish their mission or task and they're letting the other party know "it's all good, got it, moving on."

FYI: While everyone is still talking about relieving themselves, the State of Colorado has a law prohibiting males and females alike from relieving themselves on the side of the road. If convicted, you will be publicly listed as a sex-offender for indecent exposure. Colorado also has a law that allows citizens to obtain the list, by name and address of those convicted.

Whether or not I agree with any of this doesn't really matter - I am merely indicating the consequences of being caught in the act or even suspected.

Just be aware, when you're driving through here.
