Gary, the area regarding your situation is really grey. And the rules for driving INTERSTATE and INTRASTATE are really different. But I will say, that having had seizures at one time in my life ( got kicked in the head by a horse), there are things that will trigger seizures. Its different in every person, so you know your triggers. But trucking is stressful, hard on your "daily clock", and the everyday regimes you have set up for yourself in your day to day life. Having said that, you may well be able to drive within the confines of the state of Oregon ( I'm from Oregon too ), but I don't think theres a waiver that the Federal DOT will except. Even tho 12 years is a really long time to be seizure free using a balancing medication. And then theres the companies who have the insurance companies running their trucking business. That will be the highest hurdle you will have to clear. They are super picky.... So do your research, and if driving in Oregon is all you will be able to do, just remember...theres alot of Oregon that regular people never see...ever drove log truck ??? I have...its a hoot, and you see things most people only see in pictures... Good Luck...We'll help you all we can.
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
The act of purchasers and sellers transacting business while keeping all transactions in a single state, without crossing state lines to do so.
Yeah, it's really hard to say how they'll handle your situation. It's definitely against regulations to drive while on anti-seizure medication but because it's been so long there's always the possibility of getting something worked out.
The best I can tell you to do is speak with a doctor that gives DOT physicals and see what they say about your chances of getting into driving.

REGARDING A ARTICLE ON A DRIVE WITH TAKING PROZAC. I HAVE ONE FOR ALL,THAT I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THE WEB, BOTH WITH THE OREGON DOT ,AND THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY GUIDELINES. I HAPPEN TO BE A EPILEPTIC WITH SEIZURES FROM 20 YEARS AGO.HAVE BEEN ON ONE TYPE OF MEDICATION FOR 20 PLUS YEARS AND HAVE BEEN SEIZURE FREE FOR 12 YEARS. I HAVE READ AND HEARD THAT SOME WILL WAIVER WITH A MEDICAL STATEMENT BETWEEN THE DOCTOR AND THE DOT. HAVE ALSO READ THAT EVEN BEING CONTROLLED FOR 12 PLUS YEARS,THAT THE WORD DISCRIMINATION FALLS INTO THIS STORY FOR A PERSON THAT WANTS A CDL AND DRIVE TRUCK. HAS ANYBODY KNOW ANYONE IN A SITUATION SIMILAR TO THIS, OR EVER DEALT WITH A TOPIC LIKE THIS. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE FEED BACK I COULD GET BEFORE I MAKE ANY DECISIONS. THANKS. GARY
